Century Lodge in Osbourne Bay, Eagle Lake, Canada
Just finished our archery hunt. Scott Leider, first time guest to Century and now good friend, shot his first moose just minutes from camp. It came in around 8am in the morning to passive cow calling and raking. Initially we heard only low grunting followed by a large branch breaking. It was at this point that we knew a moose was closing in so I made separation between me and the shooter by backing away from the direction of the bull grunting. It was no longer than when I got settled in at my new calling site that the bull started thrashing brush and busting out of the dark timber. The moose charged within 9 yards of Scott and stopped, intently looking towards my new calling site in attempt to find the bull that had encroach on his area. Scott placed a perfect shot.
